Buying a lot of accessories for your iPhone is par for the course, so a multi-tool that performs different functions you’d otherwise have to buy individually makes perfect sense. That’s exactly what the Xistera 8 brings to the table.
Designed to work with the iPhone 5, it’s a multi-function contraption that looks like a slightly more elaborate kickstand from the picture frames of old. It’s compact and sized to fit into your pocket, so you can carry just one extra accessory while having access to several functions while on the go.
The Xistera 8 is an 8-in-1 pocket tool that bundles phone accessory functions with a few general multi-tool talents. For iPhone 5s, you can use it as a lens adapter (so you can add lenses to the phone camera), a tripod mount (with a standard 1/4-20 mount), a stand for watching movies, a stylus, and even a headphone wrap. It also comes with a built-in bottle opener, a keychain and optional LED lighting, so it covers most everything you’ll need for a night about town.
Construction is stainless steel that’s molded over with TPV santoprene, a rigid and shiny type of rubber that’s very gentle when it comes into contact with any part of your phone. It comes with optional magnetic lenses for the lens adapter function — fisheye, wide, macro and 2x telephoto.
Currently, the Xistera 8 is a successfully-funded Kickstarter project. They still have around three weeks to go, so you can still get in on the first run. Pledges to reserve a unit starts at $25.
