Pretty incredible. So, what’s the licensing and air restrictions on using this to transport people? Do you need to be licensed to fly, or what? The second image of it is kinda weird, and makes it look like the size of an RC toy? Up to 100MPH is crazy – that’s intense! That’s nice that they operate the electric motors and propellers separately for added safety, but would have liked to see emergency fuel as a back-up as well. Isn’t it kind of contradictory to say that a pilot is constantly required in the cockpit – presumably to manually operate the aircraft, but still call it a drone? It’s definitely a beautiful aircraft, though – and will make a nice toy for the more elite.

It is expensive, but I guess if you are rich like Donald Trump, then this is just another toy. I can see him taking this to the golf course after he is out of office.

I’m sure the FAA will require Workhorse SureFly pilots to have an their pilots license. It’d be scary if just anyone could fly it without regards to air safety. Of course most people will never be able to afford one. The cost of passenger drones like this will come down in price over time, as with most tech items. Computers used to be these mainframes that took up an entire room or two and could only be afforded by a few companies. The cost finally dropped and computers got smaller and cheaper. Not we buy our young kids computers and have multiple computers and computing devices like iPads in most homes. Eventually, passenger drones like these might be available to more people. Instead of heading out to buy a new Toyota you will go to the drone dealership and buy a Workhorse SureFly.

The problem is traffic jams. How do you keep things running smoothly when there are a lot of people flying these passenger drones in the future?

It costs way more than I could ever afford, but how cool would it be to take this to work or the grocery store? LOL I could only imagine the looks I would get, but this is the future! It flies at speeds up to 70 mph and has a range of 70 miles, making it perfect for shorter trips. The Workhorse SureFly won’t be released for at least another year, but I really look forward to seeing these come to market. I have so many questions though like – how would I choose a parking spot? How much is my insurance going to go up? Does it require a new license class to drive it? I wouldn’t even know how to drive it, I sure hope there’s classes!
