We’ve seen a number of space-efficient folding chairs that you can comfortably fit in a camping pack. Problem is, the compact size usually meant you had to put up with plenty of discomfort, due to narrow seats and lowered heights. That won’t be a problem with the Treo Chair.
Made by Therm-A-Rest in collaboration with ITO Design, it’s a folding camp chair that boasts “realistic seat height and width,” ensuring you can use them as comfortably as any of the folding chairs you have lying around the lawn. No more awkward seating positions while roughing it up in the wild – this chair lets you plop down and stretch your legs in the most normal way possible.
The Treo Chair has a 13-inch seat height, so you can get in and out of the chair without having to squat like it’s leg day at the gym. With a 6000-series aluminum frame, ultra-strong nylon sling, and non-skid tripod feet, it makes for a durable and stable camping furniture, too, with the ability to support weights of up to 250 pounds. More importantly, the whole chair packs into the tripod feet, leaving you with nothing but an 11-inch long semi-cylindrical pack once it’s completely collapsed, allowing you to squeeze it into a bag with the same ease you squeeze in a small vacuum bottle. Assembly is easy, too, requiring you to simply pull out each leg of the tripod, stick the various legs into their corresponding holes, and hook on the seat – done.
Therm-A-Rest Treo Chair is available now and priced starting at $64.95.
