Thule’s Hybrid Carry-On Can Double As A Backpack

Can’t decide whether to bring a backpack or a rolling luggage as carry-on for your next trip?  No need to choose with the Thule TCRU-1, a rolling carry-on that can fold up and strap on your shoulders like a rucksack.

Designed to comply with the carry-on requirements for majority of airlines, the bag has an interior capacity of 2,320 cubic inches, spread out over its 21.5 x 15 x 9 inch dimensions.  Main area has built-in compartments, allowing you to separate your stash without having to use additional containers.  There’s also a heat-molded and crush-proof Safezone compartment for holding fragile gear and supplies.

Thule’s hybrid carry-on is made using aluminum hardware, water-resistant fabrics and a molded polypropylene back panel, resulting in a lightweight and durable travel equipment.  In rolling mode, it uses oversized wheels for easier portability, raised rails for extra protection, and V-Tubing telescoping handles for a straight and steady pull.

For backpack use, you can commission the hide-away straps, which come out opposite  the folded wheels.  Sure, it looks like it’s got enough heft to hunch your back, but it’s a nice option to have when needed.  There’s also a piggyback attachment loop for hooking on an extra bag.

The Thule TCRU-1 Rolling Carry-On hybrid is available for $289.99.
