We’re big fans of quantum dot TVs, with their brighter, more vibrant, and more accurate colors. If you’ve been waiting for the day you can get one of those things in your work desk (aka gaming station), that time is now with the Samsung CH711 curved monitor.
That’s right, those quantum dots you’ve been hearing about in new LCD TVs is now in monitors, too, so you can enjoy the same richer colors and deeper contrasts you’ve been hearing with the current generation of quantum dot TVs. While aimed squarely at gamers, we’re guessing anyone who wants better pictures in their monitors can appreciate this, whether for playing games, watching movies, or doing graphic work.
The Samsung CH711 comes in two sizes: 27 inches and 31.5 inches. Both get a 1,800R curvature, so you can surround yourself with imagery, and a wide 178-degree viewing angle, so those watching somewhere else in the room can see how bad you are at playing Guild Wars 2. Thanks to the quantum dots, it boasts 125 percent SRGB coverage, while the 2,560 x 1,440 WQHD resolution ensures you can see everything in fine detail.
It comes with a white three-sided stand that, truth be told, looks way too refined to sit next to your gaming desktop and its blinking LEDs. All cables, by the way, are hidden out of sight right inside the stand.
No pricing yet, but the Samsung CH711 will come out early next year.
