The RinseKit isn’t the first portable outdoor shower we’ve seen. In fact, it’s not even the most compact. However, we do admire its perfect combination of compact size, utility and affordable pricing.
Made by OutSol, it’s a high-pressure mini-shower that you can use to give yourself a relaxing spray of water the same way you like it at home (well, minus the Bluetooth speaker in the shower head). Whether you’re camping by the lake, chilling in the beach or just need a quick clean-up after killing 20 ninja assassins that tried to ambush you in the alley, this thing should get you that shower you so desperately long for.
Housed in a case similar to a toolbox, the RinseKit makes for a functional stool when closed up, so you can use it to rest your weary legs while ogling all the cute ladies at the beach. Up to 1.5 gallons of water can fit in the container, which may not sound much. Combined with the pressure, though, that 1.5 gallons can really go far. According to the creator, he uses just a single load to rinse himself, a friend, a surf board and a wetsuit with water left to spare. The container is insulated, too, so it can keep hot water warm for hours.
Unlike most portable showers, this doesn’t use batteries or manual pumps for pressure. Instead, you fill it with pressure right at home by connecting the system to your home’s hose bib for a few seconds. It comes with 6 different sprays on the adjustable nozzle and weighs just 15 pounds when fully loaded with water.
As of now, the RinseKit is in the process of raising funding on Kickstarter. Pledges to reserve a unit starts at $50.
