Sitting behind the wheel of a supercar is one of the most comfortable positions you’ll ever find (at least, before the disastrous crash). Those things are so fine-tuned to driver ergonomics that you’ll wonder why they can’t make your minivan’s driver seat just as cozy and snug. The Poltrona Frau Cockpit collection wants to bring that supercar comfort to your workplace.
Conceived by Ferrari Design as part of the automaker’s 70th anniversary, the collection brings a pair of office chairs that mimic the styling and ergonomics of competitive racing seats. That way, you can have the same comfort you enjoy inside a Ferrari while racing to finish a deadline in the office, whether you’re typing away furiously on a laptop to complete a report or making endless calls to get a deal in order.
The Poltrona Frau Cockpit consists of two models: President and Executive. The former is one of those high-backrest models that provide excellent support to the top half of the body, while the latter sports a low and narrow backrest to enable freedom of movement even while seated. Both chairs are fitted with a central band that harkens the aesthetic and functionality of racing seats, all while using the same carbon and alutex materials used in actual Ferrari cars.
Features include a swiveling mechanism based on steering wheels, adjustable height and backrest, and a five-spoke aluminum base. It comes in three leather upholstery options: Scuderia, Classic, and Inedta.
