Between phones, consoles, and PCs, there’s no shortage of ways to play video games in this day and age. Yet, many continue to love the old-school format of arcade cabinets. So much so, in fact, that multiple companies still make them as consumer products. The Pac-Man Pixel Bash Chill does all those other rigs one better by coming with an integrated mini-fridge, so you can get all the refreshments you need without having to step away for even a second.
That’s right, it’s an arcade cabinet with a built-in mini-fridge, so you can play your retro games on the same machine that’s chilling your beer, soda, and juices. Whether you’re putting one in the rec room, the bedroom, or that spare corner in the living room, this thing should satisfy your retro-gaming needs, all while putting the ability to quench your thirst within easy reach.
The Pac-Man Pixel Bash Chill is an arcade cabinet that measures 60 x 33 x 21 inches (height x depth x width), making it the ideal height for a freestanding arcade rig, so you can either play on it standing or sitting on a stool. It has a 19-inch monitor that’s mounted in portrait orientation, so you can play the classic games the same way they used to be enjoyed, with logos of all the bundled games flanking the screen to its left and right sides. Of course, it also gets authentic arcade controls, so you can mash buttons and rattle joysticks to your heart’s content. The cabinet itself comes decked in custom Pac-Man graphics, which, we’re guessing, is a tribute to one of the most influential games of all time (it’s named after the game, after all).
A total of 32 officially-licensed classic games from the 80s are pre-installed in the rig, so there’s plenty of games to switch to as soon as you get bored with one. There is, of course, a lot of Pac-Man in that list, including Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man Pac Mania, Pac and Pal, Pac-Man Plus, and Super Pac-Man, along with equally influential shooters like Galaga, Galaga 88, Galaxian, Bosconian, Xevious, and Super Xevious. Other classics in the set include Dig-Dug, Dig-Dug II, Dragon Spirit, Dragon Buster, Mappy, Hopping Mappy, Baraduke, Tower of Druaga, Gaplus, Grobda, Rally-X, New Rally-X, Rolling Thunder, King and Balloon, Metro-Cross, Rompers, Skykid, Skykid Deluxe, and Splatterhouse.
The Pac-Man Pixel Bash Chill puts a mini-fridge in place of the section that used to house the coin slots, giving you access to refreshments by simply reaching down to open the door and grabbing yourself a drink. It comes with two drink holders right above the mini-fridge door, so you have a place to set down those beers and sodas, along with a bottle opener between them, in case you stocked up your drinks in bottles instead of cans. Do note, by the way, that the whole thing weighs a whopping 220 pounds, so make sure to find a great spot to park it in the first time since it will not be easy to move (there are no casters).
