Outisan e-Wagon Air Motorized Utility Cart Makes Hauling 150 Pounds Easier than Ever

Whether you’re going to the beach or the backcountry, a wheeled hand wagon is a handy tool that makes it so much easier to haul your gear and supplies around. Add an electric motor into the mix and it makes hauling stuff all that much easier. That’s exactly what they did with the Outisan e-Wagon Air, which uses dual motors to let you haul heavy amounts of load with very little effort.

How little? According to the outfit, the electric wagon will let you pull 150 pounds of load up an incline at just 10 percent of the effort required when using a non-powered hand wagon. That means, you can tow the same load at a fraction of the effort it will require using more traditional means. Granted, the outfit already released a more powerful version of this electric wagon a while back. This one, though, is designed to be more affordable, making it a better choice for casual users who might find the original a bit of an overkill.

The Outisan e-Wagon Air is a collapsible utility cart that can fold up and squeeze into the trunk of any car, making it easy to bring along, whether you’re spending a day at the beach, camping in the trails, or shopping for second hand gear to sell on eBay at the local swap meet. According to the outfit, it uses strong, heat-treated parts, allowing it to support weights of up to 300 pounds when stationary, although they only recommend loading up with 150 pounds max if you plan to tow it anywhere.

It uses dual motors producing a total 30Nm of torque, providing powerful assistance to help you ferry heavy loads, with enough muscle to let you pull up 150-pound loads in inclines of up to 10 degrees. Everything is intuitive, too, with integrated sensors automatically activating the motors as soon as they detect your hand on the grip. Pulling the grip prompts the motor to propel the cart forward, pushing activates brake/reverse, so it doesn’t just help you climb up on inclines, it also slows you down when going down declines, too. It can even speed up or slow down based on how fast you’re moving, so you can operate the motorized function without relying on throttles or brakes.

The Outisan e-Wagon Air has a 135Wh battery that will let you haul gear for around five miles between charges, all while being swappable, so you can bring along extra batteries if you want to keep going after the onboard cells drain out. It’s got all the necessary battery protection features, too, so you don’t have to worry about untoward battery incidents while trying to enjoy your time in the outdoors.

Other features include all-terrain rubber tires with a tread pattern designed for superior grip, a folding/unfolding function that takes juts three seconds, IP66 waterproof rating, regenerative braking to extend your range, a step-on brake for emergencies, and an automatic light that turns on when it’s on the move to keep you visible during low-light situations. The wagon measures 38.8 x 21.7 x 41.9 inches (length x width x height) when deployed, while collapsing to 15.2 x 21.7 x 25.4 inches when folded. It weighs just 40 pounds.

A Kickstarter campaign is currently running for the Outisan e-Wagon Air. Pledges to reserve a unit starts at $399.
