Nanoleaf x Fantaqi EXPO Smart LED Display Case Lets You Sync the Lighting for up to 300 Cases

We’re big fans of display cases, as they provide a simple way to show off your collectibles, with no need to perform any permanent mounting or installation. Even better, they can easily be expanded as your collection grows, since you simply need to buy new cases that you can proceed to stack into the pile. The Nanoleaf x Fantaqi EXPO Smart LED Display Case goes one step further by integrating Nanoleaf’s LED technologies to help make your collectibles shine.

Whether you collect Funko POPs, six-inch action figures, or sneakers, these LED display cases allow you to not just show off your favorite pieces, but also highlight them with colorful glows and animated lighting. Suffice to say, this makes for a truly eye-catching way to display your meticulously crafted collection.

The Nanoleaf x Fantaqi EXPO Smart LED Display Case is a rectangular case that measures 15 x 8.7 x 11.4 inches (width x height x depth), with a tip-out door in front to let you easily put in or take out any items from the box. It has built-in LEDs that produce evenly-diffused lighting to illuminate the contents while minimizing shadows and hotspots similar to the kind of lighting used for professional product images, which sets it apart from other LED-equipped display cases that typically use an overhead spotlight.

Even better, the lighting can be synced across multiple display cases. That means, you can have them all glow in the same color or produce the same lighting animations in unison. Using the companion app, you can synchronize the lighting for up to 300 display cases, which should allow you to make even large setups a truly stunning visual feast. The boxes even integrate a “layout detection” technology that determines the placement of each box to properly synchronize light animations across various rows and columns, which, we guess, Nanoleaf should be very adept at.

The Nanoleaf x Fantaqi EXPO Smart LED Display Case also has built-in capacitive controls right on the box, which you can use to turn the lights on/off, adjust brightness, switch preset scenes, and a few others. Do note, the boxes aren’t individually powered. Instead, you can plug in one box and use that single connection to power the lighting on multiple boxes, provided they’re either stacked or situated side-by-side (they have connectors on the exterior that transfer power). According to the outfit, using their 42W power plug can power for up to eight cases and a 75W plug can feed enough juice to light up 16 cases. Additionally, they warn not to mix 42W and 75W plugs in the same layout (not sure why, but probably a good idea to heed it).

Do note, these cases seem to be sized particularly for sneakers and smaller toys (e.g. six-inch action figures), so it probably won’t be the best option for taller action figures and other larger collectibles. We don’t know if it works when you stand it sideways, but it definitely makes it viable for a few other items if that’s supported.

The Nanoleaf x Fantaqi EXPO Smart LED Display Case is available now, priced at $299.99 for a set of four. There are bigger kits available, too, as well as individual expansion boxes. One thing is clear, though: this thing can end up costing you a lot if you have a ton of stuff to display.
