It may look like an iPod Shuffle, but the Mighty sure functions in an entirely different way. Instead of playing tunes from your music library, the device serves as a dedicated Spotify client, allowing you to stream music from the service even without your phone nearby.
Designed for use during exercise and other activities where you may not want to bring your phone, simply clip the music player to any part of your clothing and go. Armed with WiFi, it can hop onto any available network for streaming Spotify directly, while integrated Bluetooth allows it to pair with your favorite wireless headphones. That means, you can clip it or set it down anywhere without having to worry about whether the earphone cables will reach, making for a seriously convenient device.
Measuring 1.5 x 1.5 x 0.3 inches and weighing 0.6 ounces, Mighty makes for a compact and lightweight music player that you can clip any place where they won’t interfere with your activities. The enclosure is both sweat-proof and water-resistant, so you can wear it safely during exercises, with an onboard battery allowing it to run for up to five hours on a full charge. It comes with tactile buttons on the front for playback control, with a voice over dictation allowing you to select a playlist without a screen anywhere in sight. And for those times you want to use it in places with no available WiFi connection, it comes with 2GB of storage built-in so you can save a couple of Spotify playlists for offline listening.
A Kickstarter campaign is currently running for Mighty. Pledges to reserve a unit starts at $75.
