If you’re a fan of Varmilo’s mechanical keyboards, chances are, you’ll feel the same way about this one. Designed by the ex-Varmilo employee behind the VA68M and VB78M, the Massdrop x 0.01 Z70 packs the same excellent typing and button mashing prowess in an all-new layout.
A Massdrop exclusive, the keyboard sports a 70 percent board that’s large enough to accommodate the utility-focused layout while being compact enough to take up minimal footprint on any desk. There’s little in the form of bells and whistles like most gaming keyboards, but if you want an accessory that facilitates excellent typing and gaming function, this thing should have you covered.
The most notable part of the Massdrop x 0.01 Z70’s layout is the split space bar, which it transforms into two shorter keys rather than a single long panel. Each of the 70 keys are fully-programmable, from letters and numbers to functions and modifiers, so you can set things up to support specific needs. It can be equipped with your own choice of Cherry, Zealios, and Gateron switches, so you can have exactly the kind of mechanical switches you prefer.
The keys are set up in a machined 6061 T6 aluminum case, with a three-degree tilt for comfortable typing. Features include integrated backlighting that glows out of the sides, PBT keycaps, and two choices in case finish (black or silver). It measures 12.5 x 4.3 x 1.3 inches.
Available now, the Massdrop x 0.01 Z70 is priced at $159.99.
