We’re big fans of Logitech’s MX line of mouse peripherals and their ability to control three devices all at once, allowing you to work on three separately machines simultaneously. It’s just convenient. Over the years, they’ve really expanded the line, with a trackball model, a vertical model, and even a feature-packed flagship office model. This time around, they’re adding an on-the-go option in the form of the Logitech MX Anywhere 3 Mouse.
Designed for use by the mobile crowd, the mouse is compact enough to carry in your laptop bag, all while being large enough to let you do productive work anywhere you are. Whether you’re logging in to the office server from home, answering client emails at the airport lounge, or working from a coffee shop because being cooped up at the house is driving you crazy, this thing will help you navigate menus, edit 3D models, and do all sorts of computer work with the same ease as the mouse you used to keep on your desk at the office. We know, you miss your office very much.
The Logitech MX Anywhere 3 Mouse is a wireless mouse with a Darkfield laser tracking sensor that can be set anywhere from 200 to 40,000 dpi in 50 dpi increments, allowing it to track in practically any surface, whether you’re working on the dinner table at home, a glass table on the coffee shop, or on the floor at a crowded airport once people start flying all over the world again. It pairs that with machined steel scroll wheel that uses the outfit’s ultra-fast electromagnetic scrolling tech, which boasts the ability scroll through up to 1,000 lines per second. So yeah, this is a really good mouse for doing productivity tasks.
Silicone-covered sides facilitate a comfortable and tactile grip, while thumb buttons and a button right behind the scroll wheel allows for an extra set of functions. And yes, the controls are customizable for different apps, so the mouse can behave in a different way when you’re using the Chrome browser as it does when you’re editing images in Photoshop. Do note, the customization is only available on specific apps, so you can’t customize it for every software you work on.
The Logitech MX Anywhere 3 Mouse, of course, comes with the line’s ability to pair with up to three machines at the same time, with support for Windows, macOS, iPad OS, Chrome OS, and most Linux distributions (sorry, Android tablet users), allowing you to use three different devices as if they’re just multiple screens on one computer. It can connect with any of those machines via Bluetooth, by the way, as well as the included USB receiver, which should work on everything except iPads.
A 500 mAh rechargeable battery will keep the mouse running for up to 70 days between charges, with the option to do a one-minute quick charge, which will let you load up three hours’ worth of juice. It measures a compact 4 x 2.6 x 1.4 inches (depth x width x height).
The Logitech MX Anywhere 3 Mouse is available now, priced at $79.99.
