With Apple no longer making their own displays, owners of the new MacBook Pro will need to find other options in larger displays for getting work done on their laptops. If color reproduction is your biggest concern, then we have a feeling LG’s new 32UD00 monitor will be your best option for the job.
Equipped with support for the HDR10 standard, the monitor boasts pro-level color reproduction that allows it to accurately recreate over a billion colors that represent 95 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut. Simply put, other than boutique studio monitors that sell for ridiculous prices, there’s really nothing like it in the market, making it a great choice for graphic artists, video editors, and other media professionals.
The LG 32UD99 is a 4K HDR monitor sporting a 32-inch IPS panel, so this puts all the cutting-edge in display technology right on your desk. It hooks up to a laptop using a single USB Type-C port, which can simultaneously charge your laptop while transferring 4K images and HDR data. While aimed towards professionals, gamers should find the monitor an interesting option, too, with support for game consoles that produce 4K HDR graphics, including the PS4 Pro and the Xbox One S.
While we won’t call it stunning, as LG seems intent to, the monitor does look nice, with near-borderless edges and a slim stand giving off a refined vibe. It comes with built-in speakers that incorporate LG’s Rich Bass technology.
No pricing yet, but the LG 32UD99 is slated to come out next year.
