We all know Jurassic World is coming with a big, bad, genetically-enhanced alpha dinosaur wreaking havoc across the landscape. And with the staging of the New York Toy Fair, we’re finally seeing what the elusive beast actually looks like. Yes, it’s awesome. Like many awesome things in life, you can have your own miniature version of the franchise’s uber-dinosaur in brick form with the upcoming LEGO Indominus Rex Breakout set.
Quite the big set, it features the fearsome genetically-engineered dinosaur, along with his holding cage, which we’re assuming he’s going to destroy throughout the course of the movie, on his way to escaping from the facility and eating Chris Pratt’s head. Well, that last one probably won’t happen, but am I really alone in thinking it will be awesome to see this monstrosity take a chomp at Chris Pratt’s head? Really, nobody else?
The LEGO Indominus Rex Breakout consists of 1,156 pieces, so this is quite a long build. Fortunately, the dinosaur itself isn’t made using tiny bricks (he’s a genetically-modified LEGO), so you don’t have to painstakingly put him together before playing with a dinosaur who looks like a cross between a T-rex, a velociraptor, and whatever albino dinosaur existed during prehistoric times. Set includes four mini-figs and two vehicles (one air, one land).
Slated for release in May, the LEGO Indominus Rex Breakout set is priced at $129.
