LEGO’s New Guggenheim Museum Set Looks Just As Iconic As The Real Building

Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, the distinctive circular lines of New York’s Guggenheim Museum have made it one of the greatest architectural icons of the last half-century. Capturing such masterful work in construction toy form isn’t easy and that’s why we’re so impressed with the LEGO Architecture Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.

Yes, LEGO has released a set of the Guggenheim before. This one, however, updates it with more detail, more color, and a more complex build. Simply put, you’ll probably want to get rid of the previous one after you finish building this thing, as it looks like LEGO really went ahead and designed entirely new pieces to ensure this model gives justice to the iconic building it’s based on.

The LEGO Architecture Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum recreates the building in its current form, so it includes both the original structure and the adjoining tower that was added back in 1992. Even the lettering of the museum’s name uses the same typeface to further enhance the authenticity, with a section of the street in front of the museum included in the model, complete with a pair of scale-size yellow cabs. It measures 4 x 7 x 5 inches (height x width x depth), so it can make for a nice display piece, with 744 LEGO pieces ensuring a fun and challenging build.
