We’re big fans of Instant Pot and its versatile cooking functions, which allowed you to make a whole lot of meals using just a single countertop appliance. The Instant Pot Ultra, its latest iteration, further expands its talents, allowing it to cook even more recipes than before.
Billed as a “10-in-1,” the appliance now comes with 10 preset settings that automatically handle cooking time, pressure, and temperature, so you can just drop the ingredients in the pot, leave the house, and come home to a cooked meal. You can also set a delay timer (as in, you can have it start cooking after two hours) and a keep warm feature, making it ideal for folks who want to spend a day out yet still would like a warm meal when they get home.
The Instant Pot Ultra’s expanded preset options now offer automatic cooking settings for pressure cooking, broths, stew, beans, steaming, slow cooking, sautéing, rice, porridge, multi-grains, cake, egg, and yogurt. Yup, you can make cake and yogurt on the darn thing. There’s also a pre-programmed setting for sterilizing (if you have a baby in the house) and a manual mode. There’s even an optional altitude adjustment – as in, you can enter the height from sea level wherever you live and it will adjust the pressure to ensure precision cooking.
It comes with a stainless steel bowl, so you can brown food with no problems, with all removable parts safe to clean in the dishwasher for easy cleanup. Oh yeah, they also ditched the app from the last release, since we don’t really need an app for everything in our life, choosing to give you access to the controls via a large knob out front.
Available exclusively at Sur La Table for now, the Instant Pot Ultra is priced at $149.95.
