Ever watched Starcraft tournaments and exclaimed to yourself, “Damn, those Koreans are good?” If you have, ByunTae from South Korea wants to teach you how to bring your mouse-and-keyboard gaming skills up to their level – for a price, of course.
While it’s difficult to verify credentials (on Craigslist, no less), the ad definitely is interesting. It’s pretty much the first one I’ve seen that directly offered up Korean breeding as a reason for being a trustworthy tutor. According to the offer, you’ll be getting your lessons from a guy “gifted with unparallel(ed) talent to master any video game, particularly, Starcraft: Brood Wars,” can do bunny hops without cheats in CounterStrike and, at one time, even posted a 170 kill-streak in the FPS.
Instruction will range from beginner to advanced, including lessons such as unit strategies, worker stacking, in-game bugs you can use to your advantage, cloaked zerglings and extreme skills, like being “able to stand off 12 zerglings with just 3 zealots or fend off 18 zealots with just 4 cannons.” The consultation will include Korean lessons, so you can start banging with the hardcore crowd online.
According to ByunTae, the lessons will net you faster actions-per-minute, a better win/loss ratio and the chance to make it in the star-studded South Korean gaming scene, resulting in Korean girls being “intrigued that you’re such a good Starcraft player.” Lessons aren’t cheap and range anywhere from $20 to $35 an hour. For the love of Korean girls and the adoration of millions of fans, though, it just might be worth it.
