Most multi-tools that integrate pliers tend to be on the larger end of the size spectrum. It’s a compromise most accept if they really need pliers as part of their EDC kit. If you’re looking for a more compact option while still getting a functional set of pliers, maybe you’ll find plenty to love in the GRIPsher.
Measuring 2.4 x 1.9 inches (height x width) and weighing 1.6 ounces, it’s considerably smaller than any multi-tools with pliers we’ve seen, allowing you to comfortably keep it in your pocket, hang it from a belt loop, or include it in your keychain. Despite the small size, it’s heavy on the features, packing not just over a dozen tools, but integrating some truly novel functions.
Aside from the pliers, the GRIPsher comes with a fold-out knife, wire cutters, adjustable wire strippers, two Phillips screwdrivers, two flathead screwdrivers, a spoke wrench, a slot wrench, a measuring tool, a file, a bottle opener, a toe pry, and a pry bar. It also comes with green jaws on the bottom that look like a decorative element, although it’s actually a clever bit holder that you can use to hold any size of bit for all your driving tasks.
Even better, those same jaws can be used to hold nuts and bolts in place, giving you a larger handle to use when dealing with those specific types of fastening hardware. Features include a rotating nut for loosening and locking the jaws, a plastic attachment that covers the tips and holds a couple of bits, and 17-4 stainless steel construction.
A Kickstarter campaign is currently running for GRIPsher. Pledges to reserve a unit start at $35.
