Guitar amps have remained, pretty much, the same over the years. I mean, there’s not a lot about them that needs changing, after all. They can, however, benefit from the current advancements in digital technology and that’s what they’re bringing with the Fender Mustang GT Amps.
Designed to work with the Fender Tone app (Android or iOS), the amp comes with tone and effects settings that can be adjusted with a single tap, allowing you to tweak the sound you’re cranking out in real time. It comes with dozens of genre-specific presets onboard, with thousands more downloadable from the company’s online repository, so you can recreate any guitar sound that you like.
Billed as “the world’s first WiFi-equipped guitar amplifier,” the Fender Mustang GT Amp comes in three models: 40-watt, 100-watt, and 200-watt. Each one comes with two integrated speakers (the higher the watt model, the bigger the speaker), with built-in Bluetooth, so you can stream your favorite playlists on it like any standard wireless speaker. A small LCD panel on top and a series of knobs allow you to make adjustments right on the amp, while a built-in 60-second looper (great way to add beats) should help give your guitar sound some much-needed layer. Other features include a footswitch for easy settings adjustments during performance and setlist support.
Available now, pricing for the Fender GT Mustang Amp starts at $250.
