AirTags are great for keeping track of your wallet’s location at all times. Problem is, it’s bulky as heck, making your wallet a lot more cumbersome to carry in your pocket compared to a normal billfold. If you want the benefits of AirTag without the awkward bulk, you’ll definitely want to check out the ESR Geo Wallet.
From the outside, it looks like any normal wallet, with none of the uncomfortable bulge you’ll normally see when a wallet is fitted with an AirTag. However, it manages to deliver full AirTag functionality, so you can use Apple’s Find My feature to pinpoint your wallet’s location at any time.
The ESR Geo Wallet does have a noticeable bulge on the inside, which is still significantly slimmer than what you’ll normally get with a standard AirTag. That’s because the outfit created their own board to hold all the necessary electronics to enable the Find My feature, which measures a mere 1.6mm thick. They embedded the board under the wallet’s shell, too, then placed the flip-up ID window above it, allowing its integration to look even more discreet. The board even includes a rechargeable 110mAh battery rated to last a full five months between charges, all while requiring just two hours of charging to fully replenish. To help maintain its slim profile, it uses a simple magnetic strip for charging, so you simply snap the charger head onto it to let the power trickle in.
In case you need to find the wallet’s exact location in the room (the app can’t exactly tell you it’s between the couch cushions), the wallet also comes with a built-in speaker. When you need to find it in the immediate vicinity, the app can activate the speaker to make sounds, which should make it easier to pinpoint whatever nook and cranny it’s managed to crawl in under.
The ESR Geo Wallet is an erstwhile traditional-looking billfold, with a faux leather construction, built-in RFID blocking, and pocket-friendly dimensions that measure 115 x 90 x 15 mm (width x height x thickness). Inside, it’s got room for up to seven bank cards, a flip-up pocket with two ID windows (one each front and back), and 10 bank notes. The outfit says, there’s even room there for up to 15 coins, although we’re not sure which pocket it’s supposed to stash in. At any rate, this thing lets you keep everything organized and tidy. Seven finishes are available for the wallet, namely carbon fiber, opal gray, elephant gray, twilight black, cocoa, aged leather, and tangerine.
Since the Find My integration is built into the wallet, you won’t be able to use it with other wallets, unless you destroy the wallet and somehow manage to rip it out of its designated spot. Granted, you can probably do that, since it’s around the size of a credit card, but we’re not exactly sure how well it will work. Regardless, this is still a great option, especially if you find using AirTag Wallets significantly more uncomfortable than usual.
A Kickstarter campaign is currently running for the ESR Geo Wallet. Pledges to reserve a unit starts at $41.
