Dysonās air multipliers started out as uniquely innovative fans, blowing cool air into a space without the use of spinning blades. Over time, theyāve evolved it into a much more versatile appliance, using the same air circulating capabilities for heating and air purifying functions. The Dyson Pure Hot+Cool Cryptomic combines all those capabilities in one while further improving its air purifying abilities.
You know how air purifiers clean up formaldehyde from the air by trapping it in the filterās activated charcoal? Well, this one doesnāt. Instead, the machine active destroys the pollutant altogether by converting it at a molecular level into water and carbon dioxide, rendering it perfectly harmless without further clogging up the filter. To achieve this, it added a new mineral in the filter called Cryptomelane, which serves as the catalyst for the unique chemical reaction.
On top of its newfound formaldehyde-nuking talents, the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool Cryptomic will purify the air of all other pollutants using an activated carbon and glass HEPA filter, allowing it to clear 99.97 percent of airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns. To help you become more aware of the pollutants in your home, the device also comes with three sensors that automatically detects all airborne particles and gases, which it shows on the built-in LCD screen, so you can find out what pollutants youāve been breathing all along before you started using an air purifier. At the least, it should make you not regret whatever money you shelled out for this thing.
A companion app records all the air quality readings your device picks up, giving you easy access to the purifierās activity over time. Aside from air quality, it also records and shows temperature, humidity, and filter life. In case youāre not monitoring the app, it will send an automatic notification whenever the filter is due to be replaced.
The Dyson Pure Hot+Cool Cryptomic, of course, integrates the outfitās Air Multiplier technology, allowing it to deliver over 79 gallons of powerful airflow per second. This allows it to serve as a fan, blowing cool air onto a specific spot in the room, complete with the ability to push the air through its front or rear sides. You donāt have to physically face it to your desired direction, either, as the bladeless fan comes with 350-degree oscillation and up to 45-degree tilt, allowing you to easily control the direction of the airflow by simply changing the settings.
During cold days, that fan function can serve as a heater using self-regulating ceramic plates that heat the air as it leaves the machine, with built-in thermostat control that monitors air temperature and automatically switches off the heating plates once the desired temperature is reached. The same thermostat recognizes when the temperature has started to drop, at which point it reactivates the heating function to keep it at the desired levels. Other features include support for voice assistants (Alexa and Siri), a night mode (display is automatically dimmed), and a sleep timer. It measures 30.1 x 4.6 x 8.1 inches (height x depth x width).
The Dyson Pure Hot+Cool Cryptomic is available now, priced at $749.99.
