If you do plenty of project work during the weekend and love building cool stuff, investing in a good workbench is a definite must.  But not having enough room to stow away a large bench for the rest of the week might become an issue with wife real soon. That won’t be a problem with the Compact Folding Workbench.
A flat-packing piece of furniture, this desk doesn’t stick you with such a cramped working space like many folding workstations do. While it’s won’t be as big as the desks you use at TechShop , the tabletop measuring 47.5 x 23.5 inches should leave ample room to get a lot of work done.
For convenient storage, the Compact Folding Workbench can pack into bundle just 8.5 inches thick, allowing you to stick it in a closet or even under a bed. It features an all-aluminum frame to provide sturdy legs and a solid resin top with an accompanying vertical pegboard for holding tools and supplies (pegs not included, though). The height is adjustable from 52 to 58 inches, with the entire thing able to support up to 250 pounds of heft.
While you probably won’t be able to use the Compact Folding Workbench for large projects (like a personal hovercraft), it sure looks suitable for a lot of stuff. It’s available from Hammacher Schlemmer, priced at $199.95.
