If your dog likes sleeping by your feet when you’re at home, chances are he’ll want to do the same thing when you take him camping. And while he can always just snuggle by the side of your sleeping bag, the BarkerBag offers your pet a more comfortable alternative.
Made by Storms Design, it’s a dog-sized sleeping bag that zips into either side of the bottom half of yours, giving your canine pal his own warm and cozy place to rest right beside you. It’s made from the same materials they use on regular sleeping bags, so it’s soft, insulated, and a heck of a lot more comfortable than slumming it with nothing but the tent floor between your dog and the ground.
Like a regular sleeping bag, the dog enters the BarkerBag through a zippered opening, with a hole on top for popping his head out. Since your dog, presumably, won’t be able to use a zipper on his own, you’re supposed to let him and out of the bag yourself, making it a good way of keeping him tied down so he doesn’t go around waking everyone up at night. Do note, if you dog has bladder control issues, this is probably a bad idea. A very bad idea.
Three sizes of the bags are available, so you can choose one depending on the size of your pet companion. All three feature a cinchable collar, a carry handle on the narrow end, and compatibility with all zippered mummy-style sleeping bags.
The BarkerBag is currently raising funds for a production run on Kickstarter. Pledges to reserve a unit starts at $69.
