Armed with 376 LEDs capable of displaying over 16 million colors each, this thing can be used to display practically any image you want. From cartoon characters running to trippy patterns to selfies from your camera roll, your bike wheels are now a canvas for any images you want to show the world.
The Balight is an x-shaped device that can be mounted onto a bicycle’s wheels (26 inches and larger) in minutes, with built-in Bluetooth that allows you to operate it from either an app (iOS and Android) or a dedicated controller that mounts on the handlebar. Do note, you’ll need to be moving at around 7.5 mph in order for the images to actually make sense (especially the animations), although it will still keep your bike suitably illuminated even at standstill and at slower speeds. It comes with a removable 3,000 mAh battery that’s rated at up to 10 hours of runtime, sensors that help stabilize the display, and a waterproof enclosure so you can keep riding even through wet weather. The app, by the way, comes with plenty of built-in images and animations, with options for easily uploading your own images and texts.
