Want to decorate your room the way it would have looked if you lived your childhood back in 1982? Don’t worry, we’re not talking about decking your walls in Cyndi Lauper memorabilia. Instead, we’re suggesting these Atari Wall Decals, a set of retro arcade graphics for adorning your erstwhile boring surroundings.
Officially licensed from Atari, the set is available in three styles: Pong, Asteroids and Centipede. None of those are remembered for being hallmarks of graphical brilliance (well, no games during the time were), so be prepared to explain to kids what those weird lines and shapes are supposed to be: “See that long strip of thick line? That’s John McEnroe and the strip of line next to him is Martina Navratilova. They’re playing a game of mixed doubles.”
Asteroids come with 65 peel and stick decals, consisting of asteroids, ships, lasers, explosions and gameplay text, ranging in diameters from 4 to 20 inches. Centipede, on the other hand, has 97 decals, made up of 4-inch centipede segments, mushrooms and text. Pong comes with 50 decals, consisting dots and lines and dotted lines. Tee-hee.
Both Asteroids and Centipede have re-stickable decals, meaning you can easily rearrange them even after putting the stickers up. Pong, however, can only be used once – a fitting testament to the its prehistoric roots.
Atari Wall Decals are available now and prices range from $34.99 to $44.99.
