Like other rocking chairs and bassinets combo, the Ami Rocker gives moms (or dads) a place to lean back and chill, while rocking their little one into a (fingers crossed) peaceful slumber. Unlike them, you’re not stuck with an unused cradle once the baby’s gotten too big to need one, since it can be easily taken out and replaced with a matching seat and backrest to turn the whole thing into a two-person rocking love seat (to help inspire making more babies).
Made by Nursery Works, it’s a simple but clever design that divides the chair frame into two sections. A modular design allows you to place the seat and the bassinet on either of those two sections, as well as outfit it with dual seats or dual bassinets (both additional seats and cradles, by the way, are sold separately).
The Ami Rocker has a frame made from molded and powder-coated tubular steel, with a minimalist silhouette that should blend in well with any existing interiors. Both the seat and the cradle are upholstered in Kvadrat Maharam wool, giving it a soft and luxurious feel, with rounded cushions giving the assembled piece a streamlined appearance.
Features include a 1.5-inch non-toxic polyester fiber pad for the bassinet and a drop-and-tie design that makes swapping out modules a convenient affair. It measures 59.5 x 35.5 x 40 inches.
Available now, the Ami Rocker is priced at $1,250.
