Even the most experienced fishermen can end up with an empty bucket if they spend the day parked out in a spot that’s barren of actual swimmers. So why not recruit the robots to help? That’s exactly what you can do with the PowerVision PowerRay, a swimming drone that allows you to see where the fish are gathered underwater.

Armed with a 4K UHD camera, the robot can stream a live feed of what’s going on underwater, so you can get a glimpse of where to move the GoBoat for a better shot of coming home with some catch. Whether you’re angling, looking for sea monsters, or just exploring the underwater sights at your local river, this thing lets you see what’s going on in sharp and clear detail.

The PowerVision PowerRay takes the shape of a flying saucer, with a detachable sphere at the bottom holding the integrated camera sensor and its 100-degree wide-angle lens. It can record video up to 4K UHD into the onboard storage, although it will only stream in 1080p for the real-time feed to ensure zero lag time. Do note, it can only dive at maximum depths of up to 98 feet, so while it’s great for fishing, those looking to use it for sunken treasures are probably out of luck.

Features include a blue light that’s supposed to attract fish, a detachable arm that serves as a remote-controlled bait drop, and a battery that powers it for four hours in a single charge. There’s also an optional fishfinder that can be attached to the drone, which leverages sonar technology to detect fish up to 131 feet away.

No pricing has been announced, but the PowerVision PowerRay will come out in February.
