We have no idea whether Microsoft’s Surface Ergonomic Keyboard will really make for a much better typing experience. What we do know is its odd looks and unusual profile does seem a whole lot more fun than the boring rectangular keyboards the rest of us use every day.
Similar to the outfit’s Sculpt Ergonomic Keyboard, the new peripheral sports an arched shape that improves typing form, all while protecting both your hand and wrist from strain. It also removes the odd cut-out area from the former, all while adding a whole new set of improvements
For instance, the Microsoft Surface Ergonomic Keyboard comes with the number pad integrated, so you get a single unified keyboard instead of two separate units. It has a double-cushioned palm rest that’s covered in Alcantara, along with a subtly updated keytop geometry and a refreshed typing mechanism. Unlike their previous ergonomic keyboard that required a wireless dongle, this one comes with Bluetooth built in for easily pairing with laptops and PCs.
A pair of AAA batteries allow it to run for up to 12 months on a fresh batch, so it’s quite the low-maintenance peripheral. Features include aluminum construction, updated media keys that better support Windows 10’s functionality, and quick shortcut keys.
Available now, the Microsoft Surface Ergonomic Keyboard is priced at $129.99.
