I’ve never been a fan of desktop-sized mini-fridges. Simply put, they use way too much power for the amount of stuff they can chill. But, man, I’d be lying if said I’m not tempted by the prospect of having this Rubik’s Cube Mini-Fridge right by a corner of my work desk.
When it sits there, it looks just like a giant Rubik’s Cube waiting to be solved during the next downtime in your busy afternoon. Once you get the hankering for a cold energy drink, though, simply reach for the door and pull it open to reveal a treasure trove of chilled drinks. No need to get up and walk off to the pantry.
The Rubik’s Cube Mini-Fridge measures 11.5 inches on all sides, with an interior space measuring 6 x 7.5 x 8.25 inches – just enough to hold up to 9 cans of soda. Apart from cooling your refreshments, it comes with an alternate heating mode that you can deploy to keep food warm, so you can use it to stash unfinished pizza slices and leftover meat pies for snacking on during the day. It features rubber feet to prevent scratching your tabletop, a locking door to prevent spillage, and two power cords (one for home, another for the car). They also throw in a replacement sticker pack, in case you want to alter the way the puzzle is positioned. Needless to say, this can’t be solved (even with the sticker pack), so consider this Rubik’s Cube a mystery that will last forever. Or something like that.
Available from Thinkgeek, the Rubik’s Cube Mini-Fridge retails for $149.99.
