Your Soundmatters FoxL Dash7 can sure blast pumping tunes and get the party started like nobody’s business. But we doubt they can keep it going quite as well as the JBL Pulse LED Speaker, which adds pulsing disco lights into the mix.
Clad in a cylindrical body covered in color-changing LEDs, the speaker brings a veritable light show with your music, turning an erstwhile boring campfire into a vibrant outdoor dance floor right out of a downtown hotspot from the 90s. Sure, you’ll still need a good group of friends and enough alcohol to keep things popping till the wee hours of the morning, but the speaker should take care of all the requirements for aural and visual stimulation.
The JBL Pulse is a cylindrical-shaped Bluetooth speaker boasting omnidirectional sound and a 360-degree light show. Blaring out the music is a pair of high-performance 40mm drivers and custom-tuned bass port, with support for Bluetooth streaming and quick NFC pairing. For the light show, it comes with five pre-programmed settings (as well as a few others you can download) that get the lights dancing to the beat of the music, along with options to customize the light behavior from the accompanying mobile app. An onboard rechargeable battery lets it deliver music for up to 10 hours on a full charge, with the light show and music combining to drain it in up to 5 hours at a time.
The bad news? The JBL Pulse LED Speaker still requires you to figure out how to dance, so cross your fingers you can get that part down. It’s available now, priced at $199.
