A watch made from concrete sounds like a ludicrous idea. And that’s exactly what crossed my mind when I first heard about Dzmitry Samal’s Concrete Watches. I’d be lying, though, if I said these things didn’t rate high in the scales of badassery.
Designed for men, the limited-edition timepieces use concrete as a primary material in the watch case, creating an entirely unique look that’s as manly as it is original. We’re not sure how durable these watch housings are, but if it performs the same way concrete does in its other applications, we’re guessing these will be plenty strong.
Dzmitry’s collection consists of eight designs, all of which are straightforwardly monickered just Watch One to Watch Eight. Each Swiss-made Concrete Watch features a case measuring around 42mm in diameter, with a raised bezel that should add protection to the anti-reflective sapphire glass covering the face. Other details include black rubber straps with a pin buckle, 6-hand Swiss chronograph movement and 50-meter water resistance.
If you like your watches a cut apart from conventional designs, forget the weird Tokyoflash wackiness and pick yourself up one of these sweet Concrete Watches. Each design comes in numbered limited editions of either 100 or 150 examples, priced at either €1,240 or €980. Deliveries are slated for November of this year.
