When it’s damn freezing outside, you need a hero. And the Mr. Heater Hero radiant heater could just be the knight in shining armor to save you from an icy demise.
A portable forced-air heater, it’s the first cordless unit of its kind, allowing you to bring warm air to any space in need of higher temperatures. You know, like the garage, the tool shed and the office pod you set up in the backyard last summer (it seemed like such a good idea in fair weather).
The Mr. Heater Hero measures 18 x 10 x 14.2 inches and weighs 12 lbs, making it easy to haul around the house via the built-in handle or squeeze into the trunk of your car. Despite the less-imposing weight, the ABS composite and steel construction should be plenty durable for bumps and drops, allowing its use in camps, tailgates and work sites. Power is delivered by a standard 20-lb. propane tank and an integrated rechargeable battery that work together to heat any spot for up to 8 hours at a time.
The small rig can heat caves up to 800 square feet in size, pumping 35,000 BTUs at half the noise that come with similar heaters. It’s safe, too, with the outside barrel staying cool to the touch and shutdown auto-triggered when the thing tips over.
All needed items are thrown in the set, including a hose with regulator and a 115V AC cord. The Mr. Heater Hero is available online with prices starting from $159.99.
