Your mouse proving hard to use during presentations? Put a ring on it. Well, something like that with the Ring Mouse, a wearable input peripheral designed to give you freedom to move during presentations.
Made by Genius, the device is literally a ring you wear on one finger. Instead of precious stones, though, it’s got a directional pad (for moving that mouse cursor) and a pair of buttons. And, no, I don’t think this was the ring Beyonce was talking about.
Standard use will be to put the Ring Mouse on the forefinger, so that the control panel faces directly onto your thumb. In that position, you can use your fat finger to control the touch-sensitive pad for moving and scrolling across the screen (movement sensitivity up to 1000 dpi), as well as press the left and right mouse buttons.
It comes with a USB dongle that communicates with it via the 2.4GHz wireless frequency over a maximum distance of 10 meters, while power is supplied by an onboard rechargeable battery that can be replenished using an included USB cable.  They also threw in a copy of the ioMedia software for use in multimedia applications, so you can use the peripheral as a remote when watching a movie on your HTPC (wait, people still have HTPCs?)
The Genius Ring Mouse is available now, priced at $69.99.
