Unlike traditional filtration pitchers, the Restore Clean Water System takes things a step further. Aside from sapping bad odor, eliminating unsavory tastes and isolating sediments, it adds germ-killing UV technology for rendering your water safe from microorganisms.
As with other home filtration pitchers, the beefed-up water vessel can eliminate heavy metals, chlorine and a variety of pollutants from your water. Creator Homedic claims it works at a comparable capacity to many installed systems, all while being portable and easy to handle.
Restore Clean Water System’s special trick comes with the addition of UV light, which the company claims will get rid of 99.9999% of bacteria, 99.99% of viruses and 99.95% of microbial cysts that could be present in your drinking water. With this novel inclusion, it creates cleaner, purer water that’s guaranteed to be safer than other systems that rely solely on a filtration mechanism.
The pitcher itself measures 9.8 x 6.3 x 9.9 inches, weighs 2.3 pounds and can hold up to eight cups of water at a time. Germ-scorching UV lamp is built into the device, while the filter can be removed and replaced easily.  It needs to be plugged in to a wall outlet to commence the water-purifying action.
Homedic has obtained a California certification for microbiological water purification for the Restore Clean Water System. We’re not sure how well this stacks up to an actual microbiological filter in that regard, but it has to be pretty effective, at the least. You can get one either from the company’s website or from Amazon, where it retails for just under $60.
