Timestop D-20 Watch Has a Built-In Dice Rolling Simulator for All Your Tabletop RPG Needs

There’s no shortage of dice simulator apps that will let you roll a D20 die for all your tabletop gaming needs. If you’d rather not pull out your phone every time you need to do a dice roll, though, you might want to put on the Timestop D-20 Watch instead.

A digital watch, it comes with a dice rolling function that lets you virtually simulate throwing any of the six types of dice available in the system. You can even set it to roll with advantage or disadvantage on the D20, so you know it’s been designed with DnD players in mind, although you can use it for any game that requires using any of those standard RPG dice.

The Timestop D-20 Watch is a no-frills digital watch with a reinforced PBT resin case, a three-line wideview STN LCD, and a classic styling that wouldn’t look out of place in a lineup of 80s-era digital timepieces. Seriously, you can tell people you got it from your dad’s old stuff and they’d probably believe you. It tells the time and date, much like any traditional timepiece. Unlike other digital watches, though, there are no alarms, stopwatch function, or lap timer, since those are, apparently, things TTRPG players don’t really need to have in their wrist.

What it does have, though, are six dice icons on the topmost line of the LCD, representing the different dice shapes that come with your standard tabletop RPG title. By default, the D20 icon is highlighted at the top, which means it’s the current active die among the set. As such, when you hit the Roll button on the upper right side of the case, the watch will perform a D20 roll, complete with basic dice-rolling animations on the second line of the LCD. The result of the roll is shown on that second line, complete with matching graphical icons for Critical Hits (20) and Critical Failures (1).

The Timestop D-20 Watch lets you switch among the six dice using the Select button at the lower right side section of the watch case. There’s actually a seventh die, a D100, which is activated when none of the six dice icons are highlighted at the top. There’s also the option to roll up to 12 of any type of die at once, so this watch offers a richly-featured dice simulation system that any TTRPG fan will likely appreciate.

The standard layout shows the dice icons at the top, date at the second line, and the time at the bottom row of the LCD, with the time being bigger than all the other items, so it’s easy to notice the time of day at a glance. On the left hand side of the watch case are two additional buttons: one to activate the diffused dual backlighting and one to activate time setting mode. Other features include 30 meters of water resistance, a 37mm case width, a hardened mineral glass crystal, mechanical switch buttons, a 20mm lug width, and a standard coin battery. There’s also a stainless steel version if you’re willing to pay a little extra.

The Timestop D-20 Watch is available now, priced starting at $99.
