With the 2013 Audi R8 just around the corner, there’s little incentive to pick up the outgoing model. Unless, of course, it’s a totally exclusive and unique variant. Well, that’s exactly what’s going on with the 2012 Audi R8 Exclusive Selection Edition.
Only 50 of the all-wheel-drive vehicles will be sold: 20 V8 coupes and 30 V10 coupes. That makes it an extremely limited line, which should help you stand out when comparing rides with friends and acquaintances who have too much money rotting in their bank accounts.
Exclusive to the US market, the 2012 Audi R8 Exclusive Selection Edition takes the stock V8 and V10 coupes, then decks them in exclusive parts and fittings. Each of the variants come in only one color, too: the V8 in a Daytona Gray matte exterior and the V10 in an Ibis White exterior.
The V8 features carbon fiber exterior splitter and diffuser, 19-inch titanium spoke wheels, black grille surround, black exhaust finishers, R8 GT tail lamps, leather upholstery with Crimson Red elements and contrast stitching, leather Navigation surround, Bang & Olufsen sound system and an extra-thick contoured leather steering wheel for a sportier grip.  It puts out 480 horses at 7,900 RPM and 316 lb-ft of torque.
The V10, on the other hand, features R8 GT tail lamps, 19-inch bi-color e-tron wheels, leather upholstery with Ibis finishes and Alabaster White contrast stitching, Carbon Fiber monoposto driver’s cockpit, leather Navigation surround and a contoured steering wheel. Equipped with a 5.2-liter FSI V10, it produces 580 hp at 8,000 RPM and 391 lb-ft of torque.
Pricing for the vehicles start at $137,000.
