If you’re going to pick up a 3D printer, it’s only natural to look for one that will give you the most for your money. With its triple function as a 3D printer, 3D scanner, and laser engraver, the XYZprinting da Vinci Pro 3-in-1 definitely warrants closer inspection.
From the outside, it looks like any regular desktop 3D printer, with a boxy profile, compact size, and an enclosed build area. Except, the versatile functions enable a lot more room in your projects, whether you’re fabricating product prototypes, creating custom parts, or just building stuff for your entertainment.
The XYZprinting da Vinci Pro 3-in-1 is an FDM 3D printer with a build area measuring 7.8 x 7.8 x 7.5 inches. It can print at four resolution settings (between 100 to 400 microns), so it should handle reasonably detailed models, with support for third-party ABS and PLA filaments (1.75mm). This Pro version also comes with a new calibration system to make the process a whole lot easier, along with Wi-Fi, so you don’t have to be tethered via USB cable when fabricating items for long periods.
For scanning, it uses dual-laser technology for distortion-free captures, with most imaging tasks taking no more than five minutes each. It also supports multi-scanning, so you can position the object at different angles and let the software merge everything into the final model. Do note, the laser engraver module is an add-on that you’ll need to pick up separately ($99) if you want to engrave designs onto leather, wood, and plastic surfaces.
Available now, the XYZprinting da Vinci Pro 3-in-1 is priced at $886.
