Your battlefield model has been complete for years. And you’ve probably played the same war over a dozen times. To keep yourself amused, you occasionally add an alien battle tank here to barrel through the barracks or a Godzilla action figure there to mess up with the dynamics. This year, you can add something even cooler with the Walking Dead Zombie Army Men.
That’s right, zombies for your dioramas and models, ready to eat the flesh (okay, plastic) off your cavalcade of soldiers, B-movie victims, and stoned-out-of-their-minds breakdancers. Plus, you can totally tell the wife you’re buying these for the kids, so they can add zombies to their miniature army men battle play to give it an extra twist.
The Walking Dead Zombie Army Men takes on the traditional army men colors, too: half of each set are green and the other half are tan. That way, you can team them up with soldiers of their ilk, so they can be perfectly at home in your battlefield recreations. They look plenty ripe for painting over, as well, so if you enjoy getting creative on your action figures, you’ll definitely love adding colorful details to these.
Every set comes with 10 figures (5 green and 5 tan) in five different molds. Basically, you get one of each style on every color, so there’s a decent amount of variation. Dimensions are about the standard size for army men (if you buy the regular variety, not the ultra-cheap ones), measuring 2.3 x 1.5 x 0.75 inches (h x w x d) apiece.
Set for release in the second quarter of 2013, the Walking Dead Zombie Army Men are available for preorder now, priced at $13.99 per set.
