The Spider-Man movie franchise is huge. We don’t know how big the Ultimate Spider-Man animated series is, but Spidey’s immense popularity probably trickles down to that show as well. The latest installment of toys made for the TV series from Hasbro have been announced and they include quite a generous selection.
Ultimate Spider-Man Action Figures:Â Four sets of Spider-Man action figures will drop in the Spring, varying from tiny 3.75-inch miniatures to larger 12-inch toys.
Core 6-inch Action Figures – This depicts Spidey in his likeness as an official S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, along with numerous personalities from the organization. Every action figure comes with its own unique battle accessory. The Core 6-inch Action Figures retail for $12.99.
All Stars Figures – The smallest of the bunch, these action figures measure just 3.75 inches tall. Four Spider-Man action figures are available, all of them boasting two accessories and five points of articulation. Price is $5.99.
Hero Series Spider-Man – Aimed at both young Spider-Man fans and collectors alike, the 12-inch Hero Series Spider-Man action figure combines plenty of fine detail with five points of articulation. It will retail for $9.99.
Electro-Web Spider-Man – Measuring 10 inches, the Electro-Web Spider-Man action figure lets you wage battle using a special spinning electronically-controlled web attack. To go with the fancy spider-weapon, it packs light and sound effects, as well as prerecorded phrases from the Ultimate Spider-Man animated series. It runs on one AA battery, priced at $19.99.
Ultimate Spider-Man Vehicles:
Spidey gets tired from all that swinging on top of buildings, too. Â That’s why he needs to get a ride sometimes. Â Well, it’s a good excuse to get yourself a bunch of Spider-Man vehicles, anyway, and Hasbro got a few dropping in the Spring.
Spider-Man Zoom N Go – Four racer vehicles come in this set (three recreational off-road four-wheelers and the Spider-Cycle), all clad in Spidey’s recognizable red and blue deco theme. All four are designed to be pulled back then let go to send them speeding through on a drag race to the finish. Each one, which retails for $9.99, comes with a 3.75-inch Spider-Man action figure.
S.H.I.E.L.D. Battle Racer – This brings S.H.I.E.L.D’s tech-heavy Battle Vehicle into your play area, ready to destroy every enemy ride in its path. It comes with two flip-up missle launchers that you can use to take out opponents both on the ground and on the air. It will retail for $19.99.
RC Wall Racing Spider Cycle – A gravity-defying version of the Spider Cycle, this wall racer can climb up vertical surfaces, allowing you to maneuver it up walls. Even better, it’s remote controlled, so you can race two or more in a battle to reach the ceiling. It requires four AA batteries and wll be priced at $19.99.
Powers Webs Action Figures, Vehicles & Role Play:Â The Power Webs line feature toys armed with a power-launching feature, covering a wide gamut from action figures to wearable shooters.
Power Webs Rapid Fire Web Blast Action Figure – Standing over 12 inches tall, this Spider-Man action figure offers some serious large-scale play. Each arm has a holding area for three Power Webs that can be fired one at a time, complete with web-slinging sound effects and light-up eyes. It requires a pair of AA batteries and will be priced at $34.99.
Power Webs Feature Figures – All of the most popular Ultimate Spider-Man heroes and villains are included in the set, all of which are presented in 3.75-inch detailed action figures. All characters get the Power Webs feature, a flexible accessory that lets you launch the figure into battle.   The set, which will retail for $9.99 each, includes Spider-Man, Iron Spider-Man, Venom, Iron Fist, Doctor Octopus and more.
Power Webs Racer Vehicles – Three racer vehicles are included in this set, all armed with the same Power Webs feature that lets you launch them sprinting across the ground at distances of up to 15 feet. Each one comes with a 3.75-inch Spider-Man action figure designed to ride the vehicle. The Power Webs Racers will retail for $12.99.
Power Webs Spider Strike Cross Bow – I haven’t really watched the Ultimate Spider-Man animated series much, so I’m not very familiar with the weapons on the show. Apparently, there’s a cross bow somewhere in there and they’re bringing it to life with this Nerf-powered Spider Strike. No batteries, though, so it’s strictly air-powered and launches its foam darts at a modest distance of 15 feet.  Each cross bow comes with three darts and will retail for $7.99.
Power Webs Gauntlet – A wearable wrist-mounted toy weapon, the Power Webs Gauntlet lets you shoot stretchy web balls from your arm just like Spidey. You’ll need to use your other hand to stretch and release, though, so it’s not quite as smooth as the friendly neighborhood webslinger. It will be priced at $7.99.
Power Webs Stunt Launch Spider Cycle – This toy is a replica of the Spider Cycle from the Ultimate Spider-Man animated series. Like the Power Webs Racers, it comes with the launching feature that sends it speeding across the ground. To add a bit of panache to its runs, the Spider Cycle also includes a stunt ramp that should help it finish its runs by catching big air. Need to launch an attack at any time? Load up the Cycle’s Rocket Ring with a missile and hit fire. It will retail for $19.99.
Ultimate Spider-Man Role Play:Â Costumes, of course, always come as part of any superhero toy set and the Ultimate Spider-Man line doesn’t disappoint with a generous selection.
Spider-Man Hero Mask – All costumes start with good headwear and the set offers a front silicone Spider-Man mask to help superhero kids conceal their true identity. The mask is adjustable and can supposedly fit anyone from age 5 to grown adults. It will retail for $9.99.
Mega-Blaster Web Shooter with Glove – This combines a Spider-Man glove packing a squirt gun and a wrist-mounted weapon that fires reusable string ammo. That way, kids can shoot you with the string and, just when you think playtime is over, they can follow up with a burst of “web fluid.” Boom. It comes with a canister of Web Fluid and will be priced at $19.99. Canisters of Web Fluid are available separately for $7.99.
Motorized String Web Shooter – Spider-Man shoots long strings in a rapid manner and nothing can simulate that better than a motorized shooter. This wrist-mounted weapon, powered by four AAs, can store two long reusable strings that you can fire one after the other. The string won’t quite stick to the target like Spider-Man’s web, but it should carry a bit of sting with a plastic head out front.
Spider-Man Fighter Pods: If you’re not familiar, Fighter Pods let you battle micro-action figures using Spinfire Launchers to launch them at each other. Tons of figures are available, including Spider-Man, Green Goblin, Venom and a whole load of characters from the Spider-Man universe. New Spider-Man Fighter Pods sets coming in the Spring include the Blind Bag ($2.99), Starter Pack ($5.99), Face-Off Pack ($9.99), Spider Cycle Launcher Pack ($14.99), and a Multi-Fire Deluxe Launcher ($19.99).
