You like your SUVs with a sports car soul (as opposed to a monstrous spirit) and that’s a beautiful thing. The newest entry in that niche luxury category comes in the form of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S, which boasts even greater horsepower than Porsche’s previous best .
Pumping out 550 horses and 553 pound-feet of torque, the sporty SUV now posts a 0 to 60 of just 4.3 seconds along with a top track speed of 175 mph. While it’s not an earth-shattering upgrade from the Turbo (which has 50 less horsepower and has a slightly slower top speed), it’s still sweet, especially when one-upping that neighbor who likes to race you on the way back home when you meet at an intersection.
All that power, of course, needs to be reeled in, so the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S gets equipped for topnotch dynamic performance, assisting motorists in cornering, agility, and driving comfort. The smattering of integrated advanced tech includes Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), and Power Steering Plus, all of which were optional with the last model. Inside the cabin, it gets the full Sport Chrono package, a two-tone leather interior and plenty of carbon fiber accents.
Outside, the vehicle gets a few aesthetic touches to separate it from the fleet. Notable features include gloss black air intakes up front, gloss black 911 Turbo II wheels and twin aluminum exhaust outlets.
The Porsche Cayenne Turbo S will go on sale Spring of 2013, with prices starting at $146,000.
