Sometimes, we act clumsy and we make a mess. It happens and it’s our fault. Then, again, maybe we should blame bad design. You know, like, why the heck isn’t my Starbucks Tumbler designed to stay on its feet when I bump into it? Well, someone thought that way about coffee mugs and sought out to build one that will stay standing even in your clumsiest moments: the Mighty Mug.
A mug that can’t be knocked over, it eliminates spills from your life forever. Whether you accidentally whack it with your hand, kick the desk out of frustration, or knock it on the side while reaching for a book on the back of the table, this mug is designed to stay completely upright with its contents secured the entire time.
The Mighty Mug uses a patented technology called Smartgrip, which creates an airlock between the mug and the flat surface it’s standing on. As such, the kind of force that will be enough to knock down other mugs in the office cupboard will only make it tilt ever so slightly before returning to its upright form. More impressively, the airlock automatically releases when you lift the Mighty Mug from the table (as long as you grip it somewhere on the upper half), so you don’t need to put in any extra effort to raise it up and take a sip. The airlock mechanism will work on any type of flat surface, so whether you’re enjoying a cup of coffee at the wooden Artifox Desk in the office, the glass coffee table in the living room, or at the fire exit stairs in the back of the building, this thing can work its magic. It’s available in five sizes: 11 oz., 12 oz., 16 oz., 18 oz., and 20 oz.
A Kickstarter campaign is currently running to fund the Mighty Mug. Pledges to reserve a unit starts at $20.
